The MLK Unit Award was established in 2004, and it recognizes current or former Gaston County citizens who have performed exemplary community service to help build bridges of unity across lines of race, class, gender, faith and/or among municipalities within our county.

Faith & Blue Weekend: Faith, Justice, & Unity March | Closing Ceremony
Join us Sunday, October 12th for the Faith, Justice, & Unity March and Faith & Blue Weekend Closing Ceremony. There will be a community march from the Rotary Pavilion in Gastonia to CaroMont Health Park. Following the march, there will be a performance by a community choir, an ecumenical service, and speakers.
3:30 PM - 4:40 PM: Free hot dogs at the Rotary Pavilion (Gastonia, NC)
5:00 PM: Faith, Justice, & Unity March from the Rotary Pavilion to CaroMont Health Park (Gastonia, NC)
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM: Closing Ceremony at CaroMont Health Park (Gastonia, NC)
Faith & Blue Weekend
Faith & Blue Weekend is October 10th - 12th!
The National Faith & Blue Weekend facilitates safer and stronger communities by engaging law enforcement officers and local residents through the connections of faith-based organizations.
The weekend will include community breakfasts, music, an ecumenical service, and more!
We will share additional details as they become available!

Community Leadership & Emerging Leader Award Nominations

Gaston Together is excited to announce our updated Community Leadership Awards. Each year, the awards will focus on leaders in specific ages groups.
This year, we will select the top 3 leaders under 30 in Gaston County. Anyone under the age of 30 who lives or works in Gaston County can be nominated. They should exemplify strong leadership qualities, contribute significantly to community involvement by volunteering (or working) for civic and/or non-profit organizations, and have achieved professional success.
